Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Rinsulin R** is a recombinant human insulin preparation classified as a short-acting, regular insulin. It is produced by recombinant DNA technology and used to control blood glucose levels in individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. After subcutaneous injection, it lowers blood glucose primarily by stimulating glucose uptake in muscle and fat, and inhibiting glucose production by the liver. Rinsulin R is structurally identical to endogenous human insulin. Its onset, peak, and duration are similar to other regular insulins, making it suitable for prandial (mealtime) glucose control.
