Overview

Rinucumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration. It specifically targets the platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRβ), acting as an inhibitor of this receptor. By blocking PDGFRβ signaling, rinucumab aims to inhibit angiogenesis and vascular leakage associated with wet age-related macular degeneration. The drug was developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and has reached Phase 2 clinical trials for this indication[1][2][3].
