Overview

Rinza is an over-the-counter combination small‑molecule oral analgesic, antihistamine, and nasal decongestant used for short‑term symptomatic treatment of common cold, influenza, and upper respiratory tract infection symptoms such as fever, headache, myalgia, nasal congestion, and rhinorrhea. It typically contains paracetamol (acetaminophen) as an antipyretic/analgesic, phenylephrine as an alpha1‑adrenergic vasoconstrictor to reduce nasal mucosal edema, chlorpheniramine (or chlorphenamine) as a first‑generation H1 antihistamine to reduce rhinorrhea and allergy symptoms, and caffeine as a mild central nervous system stimulant that can counteract sedation and enhance analgesic efficacy. The combination does not treat the underlying viral infection but provides multi‑symptom relief and is marketed by various generic manufacturers in markets such as India and Eastern Europe.
