Overview

Risankizumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that selectively targets the p19 subunit of interleukin-23 (IL-23), a cytokine involved in inflammatory and immune responses. By inhibiting IL-23, risankizumab reduces inflammation associated with several autoimmune diseases. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. Risankizumab was developed by AbbVie and Boehringer Ingelheim.
