Overview

RIST4271 is a small molecule, oral C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2) antagonist. It was developed by Aristea Therapeutics, an AstraZeneca spin-out, for the treatment of serious inflammatory diseases. CXCR2 plays a crucial role in recruiting neutrophils to inflammatory sites, and by blocking this receptor, RIST4271 aimed to reduce inflammation. The development program for RIST4271 was discontinued in February 2023 due to safety findings in ongoing Phase 2 clinical trials, leading to the dissolution of Aristea Therapeutics.
