Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination regimen containing **rituximab** (a monoclonal antibody targeting the CD20 antigen on B-lymphocytes), **cyclophosphamide** (an alkylating chemotherapy), **vincristine** (a microtubule inhibitor chemotherapy), **prednisone** and **prednisolone** (both synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroids) used for the treatment of certain hematologic malignancies. The combination works synergistically by targeting cancer cells through antibody-mediated cytotoxicity, DNA crosslinking, inhibition of microtubule assembly, and immunosuppression or direct cytotoxic steroid effects. The inclusion of both prednisone and prednisolone is atypical in standard protocols, where either one or the other steroid is normally used.
