Overview

This is a multi-agent combination regimen composed of five drugs: rituximab, vincristine, doxorubicin, bendamustine, and prednisolone. Each drug has a distinct mechanism of action: - Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B lymphocytes, leading to cell lysis. - Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation in mitosis. - Doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II. - Bendamustine is an alkylating agent causing DNA crosslinking and apoptosis. - Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. This combination may be used for the treatment of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma or other hematologic malignancies where such regimens are indicated. The inclusion of bendamustine instead of cyclophosphamide represents an alternative to standard R-CHOP regimens for patients who may not tolerate certain agents[2][3].
