RJB-c0101 is a dual-target gene therapy developed by Rejuvenate Bio for veterinary applications, including mitral valve disease (MVD), obesity, diabetes, and feline chronic kidney disease. The therapy utilizes a viral vector to deliver genetic sequences for two therapeutic proteins: a soluble form of the Transforming Growth Factor Beta Receptor 2 (sTGFβR2) and Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21). sTGFβR2 acts as a decoy receptor to sequester TGF-β, thereby inhibiting the pro-fibrotic signaling pathways associated with heart and kidney failure. FGF21 is a metabolic hormone that enhances insulin sensitivity and lipid metabolism, addressing the underlying drivers of obesity and diabetes. As of 2024, the program is in the discovery stage within the company's animal health pipeline.
