Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RM-1995 + pembrolizumab is an experimental combination therapy under investigation for cancer, combining RM-1995 photoimmunotherapy (PIT) with pembrolizumab, a programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint inhibitor. RM-1995 is a photosensitive biologic administered to target tumor cells, which, upon activation by directed light, induces rapid tumor cell destruction and immunogenic cell death. Pembrolizumab binds to the PD-1 receptor on T-cells, blocking interaction with its ligands (PD-L1/PD-L2), thereby enhancing T-cell-mediated immune responses against cancer cells. The combination is being studied to evaluate safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in solid tumors, including cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma[1][3].
