Overview

RM191A is a patented small molecule copper-amino acid chelate complex developed by RR MedSciences. It functions as a superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic, designed to neutralize reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (free radicals) that contribute to inflammatory and immune activation. By mimicking the activity of the innate SOD enzyme, RM191A aims to quench free radicals that activate pain signaling pathways. The drug is primarily being developed as a non-opioid, non-addictive topical treatment (gel or spray) for chronic, severe, and refractory neuropathic pain. It has completed a Phase 2a clinical trial (RRM-CIP-01) at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
