Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RM301B is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), developed by Chengdu Ruimu Biopharmaceutical Technology. It is designed for the treatment of ophthalmic vascular disorders, specifically macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion (RVO-ME) and neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). By binding to VEGF-A, RM301B prevents the growth factor from interacting with its receptors, VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2, on the surface of endothelial cells. This action inhibits the signaling pathways responsible for pathological angiogenesis and increased vascular permeability, thereby reducing retinal edema and preventing further vision loss. The drug is administered via intravitreal injection and is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China.
