Drug intelligence / Profile preview
rMAGE-3 is a recombinant protein-based therapeutic vaccine candidate targeting the melanoma-associated antigen 3 (MAGE-A3), which is expressed in various tumors but not in normal tissues except for testis and placenta. The drug is designed to stimulate an immune response against cancer cells expressing the MAGE-A3 antigen. It has been investigated primarily as an immunotherapy for cancers such as melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer. The mechanism of action involves presenting the MAGE-A3 antigen to the immune system, thereby inducing cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses that target and destroy tumor cells expressing this antigen.
