Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RMD-002 (also referred to as RMD-1202) is a preclinical gene therapy candidate being developed by Remedium Bio (Remedium Technologies) for the treatment of obesity and Type 2 Diabetes. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Prometheus™ adjustable gene therapy platform, which is designed for delivery via either adeno-associated virus (AAV) or lipid nanoparticle (LNP) vectors. RMD-002 is engineered to enable the continuous subcutaneous production of a GLP-1 receptor agonist following a single injection, aiming to replace the requirement for frequent protein injections. By providing stable, steady-state protein expression and eliminating the concentration spikes associated with traditional dosing, the therapy seeks to improve weight loss efficacy, glycemic control, and insulin response while enhancing safety and tolerability.
