RMD1206

RMD1206 is an investigational gene therapy being developed by Remedium Bio (formerly Remedium Technologies) for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Prometheus platform, which is designed for the modular delivery of therapeutic genes using either adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors or lipid nanoparticle (LNP) systems. RMD1206 is engineered to deliver a functional copy of the Follistatin (FST) gene. Follistatin is a naturally occurring protein that acts as a potent inhibitor of myostatin and other members of the TGF-beta superfamily that negatively regulate muscle mass. By overexpressing Follistatin, RMD1206 aims to increase lean muscle mass, reduce adipose tissue, and improve systemic insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
