Overview

RMD1305 is an investigational gene therapy candidate developed by Remedium Bio for the treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and sarcopenia. The therapy utilizes Remedium's proprietary Prometheus platform, a non-viral, redosable gene delivery system that employs lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to deliver a DNA payload. RMD1305 is designed to induce the expression of Follistatin (FST), a naturally occurring protein that acts as a potent antagonist of myostatin (GDF-8) and activins. By inhibiting these negative regulators of muscle growth, RMD1305 aims to promote skeletal muscle hypertrophy and improve metabolic health, thereby addressing both muscle loss and metabolic dysfunction. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
