Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The rMenB + OMV + MenACWY vaccine is an investigational multicomponent combination vaccine designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y. Developed by Novartis Vaccines (now part of GSK), the formulation integrates the components of the licensed serogroup B vaccine (Bexsero) — including recombinant proteins NHBA, NadA, and fHbp, along with outer membrane vesicles (OMV) — with the quadrivalent MenACWY-CRM conjugate vaccine (Menveo). The vaccine is formulated with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant and administered via intramuscular injection. It was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials (such as NCT01210885) to assess the safety and immunogenicity of various combined formulations in adolescents, aiming to provide broad-spectrum protection against the five major disease-causing serogroups in a single immunization series.
