Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RMJH-111b is an oral, soft-gel formulation of tribasic anhydrous magnesium citrate developed with proprietary inverted micellar nanodroplet technology to enhance cellular uptake and retention of magnesium for the treatment of essential hypertension.[2][4] By forming charge-neutral nano‑droplets that traverse neutral cell membrane pores independently of the usual calcium/magnesium ATPase ion channels, the drug aims to restore intracellular magnesium in arteriolar smooth muscle, exerting vasodilatory and calcium channel–blocking effects that lower blood pressure and potentially reduce kidney damage from magnesium wasting associated with conventional antihypertensive therapies.[2][4][7] RMJH-111b has completed a randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled Phase 1/2 trial in adults with essential hypertension and is being advanced toward a single pivotal Phase 3 trial via an FDA‑agreed 505(b)(2) pathway that bridges to approved intravenous magnesium products.[2][4][5][6][9]
