Overview

RMP-402 is a first-in-class hemostatic therapeutic developed by RxMP Therapeutics for the treatment of severe hemorrhage and trauma-induced coagulopathy. The drug consists of chemically modified, red blood cell-derived microparticles (RxMPs) that provide a highly procoagulant surface to accelerate the body's natural clotting process. By facilitating the assembly of the prothrombinase complex (Factors Xa and Va) and enhancing thrombin generation at the site of vascular injury, RMP-402 aims to stop life-threatening bleeding more effectively than current standards of care. As of 2024, the program is in late preclinical development, with OrganaBio serving as the cGMP manufacturing partner for IND-enabling studies.
