Overview

RN026 is an investigational RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic developed by Rona Therapeutics. It targets lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], a well-established risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The drug is designed to lower Lp(a) levels in the blood, potentially reducing the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), aortic stenosis, and other related conditions. RN026 utilizes RNAi technology to silence the gene responsible for producing apolipoprotein(a), thereby decreasing circulating Lp(a). Early clinical data suggest that RN026 may enable infrequent dosing, possibly as little as once per year[1][2].
