The RNA-lipoplex vaccine is an investigational mRNA-based cancer immunotherapy developed by Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Iran. It is formulated as messenger RNA sequences encapsulated in a lipoplex (RNA-liposome) delivery system designed for intravenous administration. The vaccine targets three key prostate cancer-associated tumor antigens: prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate 1 (STEAP1), and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP). By delivering these antigen-encoding mRNAs, the vaccine aims to stimulate the patient's immune system, particularly activating cytotoxic T-cells to recognize and destroy prostate cancer cells. It has been evaluated in a completed Phase I clinical trial in Iran to assess its safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and preliminary antitumor activity in patients with prostate cancer.
