Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RNV-1003 is an early-stage investigational drug candidate being developed by REDNVIA for the treatment of Calcific Aortic Valve Disease (CAVD). REDNVIA, a South Korean biotechnology company formed as a joint venture between Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical and Asan Medical Center, focuses on developing pharmacological treatments for aortic stenosis to provide alternatives to surgical valve replacement. RNV-1003 is a small molecule designed to inhibit the pathological mineralization and calcification of the aortic valve. While the company's lead candidate, RNV-1001, is a repurposed PPAR-gamma agonist, RNV-1003 is part of a follow-on pipeline of novel compounds aimed at the underlying biological mechanisms of valvular interstitial cell differentiation and calcification. It is currently in the discovery or preclinical stages of development.
