Overview

rNV-2v is a bivalent virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate designed to prevent acute gastroenteritis caused by norovirus infection. It is composed of virus-like particles self-assembled from the major capsid proteins (VP1) of the norovirus GI.4 Chiba 407 (1987) and GII.4 Aomori 2 (2006) strains. The vaccine works by eliciting both humoral and cellular immune responses, including the production of total serum immunoglobulins, serum IgA, and CD4+ polypositive T cells, against these specific norovirus genotypes. It is manufactured by Icon Genetics GmbH using its magnICON® technology.
