Overview

RO-6807952 (also known as MAR701 and RG7685) is an investigational dual agonist of the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR) and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug was initially developed by Marcadia Biotech and later by Roche. It was designed to be administered subcutaneously and aimed to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled with metformin. Clinical trials included randomized, double-blind studies comparing RO-6807952 to placebo or liraglutide in this patient population. Development was discontinued after phase II clinical trials[1][4][5].
