Overview
A fixed-dose combination of three investigational direct-acting antivirals: **RO5024048** (a nucleoside analog inhibitor of Hepatitis C virus NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase), **danoprevir** (a protease inhibitor targeting HCV NS3/4A protease), and **ritonavir** (a CYP3A4 inhibitor used here to boost danoprevir plasma levels via metabolic inhibition). This combination was studied in clinical trials for the treatment of **chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection**, primarily genotype 1, in both interferon treatment-naïve and prior non-responder adult patients with or without cirrhosis. Ritonavir is not itself an antiviral here but serves as a pharmacokinetic enhancer. RO5024048 was one of Roche's early entries into HCV nucleotide analog development.
