Overview

RO5024118 (also known as R7103) is a selective vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor 2 (VPAC2) agonist developed by Roche for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a small molecule designed to provide dual bronchodilatory and anti-inflammatory activity by targeting VPAC2 receptors expressed in the respiratory tract. The compound was derived through chemical modification of an earlier VPAC2 agonist, RO0251553. RO5024118 has been evaluated in Phase 1 multiple-ascending dose clinical trials to investigate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics following repeated inhaled administration in patients with moderate-to-severe COPD.
