Overview

RO5490248 (also known as RG7601) is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed by Roche (specifically Chugai Pharmaceutical in Japan) that targets CD200 (Cluster of Differentiation 200). CD200 is an immunosuppressive cell surface glycoprotein that is often overexpressed in various solid tumors and hematological malignancies. By binding to CD200, RO5490248 aims to block the interaction between CD200 and its receptor (CD200R) on immune cells, thereby potentially reversing tumor-induced immunosuppression and enhancing the anti-tumor immune response. It has been evaluated in Phase I clinical trials as a monotherapy and in combination with bevacizumab for patients with advanced or recurrent solid cancers that are refractory to standard therapy.
