Overview

RO7011785 is a small molecule, selective Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist developed by Roche for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It is the active metabolite of the oral double prodrug ruzotolimod (also known as RO7020531 or RG7854). RO7011785 acts as an immunomodulator that activates TLR7, thereby stimulating the innate immune system and inducing the production of interferons and interferon-stimulated genes. This immune activation is intended to enhance the host's ability to clear HBV and achieve a functional cure. Clinical development reached Phase II, but Roche discontinued the program for chronic hepatitis B in 2021.
