Overview

RO7288817 is a recombinant protein developed by Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, that acts as an agonist of the **TEK receptor tyrosine kinase** (also known as **Tie2**). Tie2 is a transmembrane receptor primarily expressed on endothelial cells and is essential for maintaining vascular integrity, promoting vessel stability, and inhibiting inflammation and vascular leak. By mimicking the action of Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1), RO7288817 activates the Tie2 signaling pathway to protect the microvasculature from damage. It is currently being investigated for its potential to prevent or mitigate **cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury (CSA-AKI)**, as well as for applications in chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular diseases where endothelial dysfunction plays a critical role.
