Overview

RO7428731 is a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) antibody designed for immunotherapy in cancer, specifically targeting glioblastoma. It binds both the mutant epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), which is present on certain glioblastoma cells, and CD3 on T cells. By bringing T cells into close proximity with EGFRvIII-expressing tumor cells, it activates the immune system to attack and kill these cancerous cells. The drug is being developed by Roche/Hoffmann-La Roche and has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for patients with newly diagnosed or recurrent EGFRvIII-positive glioblastoma[2][5][6][7].
