RO7823653 is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed by Genentech (a member of the Roche Group) for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). It specifically targets and neutralizes interleukin-6 (IL-6), a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is significantly involved in the pathogenesis of retinal vascular diseases, including increased vascular permeability and chronic inflammation.
