Overview

Rocuronium bromide + sevoflurane is a combination of two drugs used in anesthesia: - **Rocuronium bromide** is an aminosteroid, nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent that works as a competitive antagonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor at the neuromuscular junction, causing muscle paralysis and facilitating intubation or surgical relaxation[1][2][3][4][5]. - **Sevoflurane** is a volatile halogenated ether inhalational anesthetic agent, widely used to induce and maintain general anesthesia. It acts primarily by modulating multiple central nervous system ion channels, notably enhancing GABA-A receptor activity, resulting in CNS depression and unconsciousness. The combination is typically used during surgeries requiring muscle relaxation under general anesthesia, often with sevoflurane enhancing the neuromuscular blockade produced by rocuronium bromide, allowing lower doses of each[5]. Both are widely studied and approved components of anesthesia protocols, especially in pediatric and adult surgical anesthesia.
