ROH-001

ROH-001 is an investigational ophthalmic solution containing a low dose of atropine sulfate, currently being developed by ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of progressive myopia in children and adolescents. The drug is designed to slow the elongation of the axial length of the eye, a key factor in the progression of myopia, by antagonizing muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. ROH-001 is currently in Phase II clinical development in Japan, with studies such as jRCT2031250015 evaluating its efficacy and safety compared to placebo in pediatric patients. The primary endpoint in these trials typically involves the change in objective spherical equivalent under cycloplegia over a specified treatment period, aiming to provide a pharmacological intervention to prevent the development of high myopia and its associated complications.
