Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Roha-max is a line of natural dietary supplements designed to support intestinal regularity and maintain digestive health. Distributed by Diafarm (a subsidiary of Faes Farma), the flagship product is formulated with Senna (*Cassia angustifolia*) leaves, which contain natural stimulant laxatives known as sennosides. These compounds are prodrugs that are converted by colonic bacteria into active rheinanthrones. These active metabolites stimulate the myenteric plexus, leading to increased colonic motility and peristalsis, while also inhibiting water and electrolyte absorption in the large intestine. This dual action facilitates bowel movements and provides relief for occasional constipation. The product range often includes additional botanical ingredients such as hibiscus and licorice to support digestive comfort.
