Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Roliptin is a branded generic formulation of rosuvastatin, a small molecule HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor developed and marketed by East West Pharma in India. It is indicated for the management of primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk. By inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis, Roliptin reduces LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels while increasing HDL cholesterol. It is typically prescribed when lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise are insufficient to achieve target lipid levels.
