Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Roman chamomile extract (Sibelius™: Chamomile) is a proprietary botanical natural product developed by Sibelius Limited. Derived from a specific non-GMO cultivar of *Chamaemelum nobile*, the extract is standardized for active components including flavonoids and azulene compounds. It was developed using the Chronoscreen™ platform, which utilizes *C. elegans* to identify biological activity and evaluate biological effects. The extract exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immune-modulating properties, specifically targeting vascular inflammation pathways. While traditionally used as a nutraceutical for sleep support and relaxation, it is currently being investigated as a potential therapeutic for Long COVID, with clinical research focusing on its ability to modulate systemic inflammatory marker release.
