romilkimab

Romilkimab is a humanized bispecific IgG4 monoclonal antibody that binds to and neutralizes both interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13), two cytokines implicated in fibrotic diseases. Developed by Sanofi, it was investigated primarily for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and systemic sclerosis (systemic scleroderma). Romilkimab acts as an antifibrotic agent by inhibiting the signaling pathways of IL-4 and IL-13, which are involved in the pathogenesis of fibrosis. Clinical trials demonstrated significant effects on skin changes in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis but development has been discontinued for its main indications[1][3][5][8].
