Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rongyang Zhengyifang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal tea formulation developed to manage mild symptoms of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) and prevent progression to more severe disease states. Developed by researchers at Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, the formula is designed to regulate physical fitness and enhance the body's internal strength (Zheng Qi) to promote self-recovery. The intervention is typically administered in the form of a tea bag. The strategy behind this herbal therapy is to provide a low-cost, accessible treatment that can be administered early in the course of infection to reduce the burden on the healthcare system and block the progression of respiratory damage, such as pulmonary fibrosis, which can occur in moderate-to-severe cases.
