Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ronkyla Plus is a hydrogel-forming sodium deoxycholate injection being developed by Glonova Pharma Co., Ltd, in collaboration with T-TOP Clinical Research Co., Ltd. It is designed for the treatment of superficial lipoma and submental fullness (excess fat under the chin). The active ingredient, sodium deoxycholate, is a bile acid that acts as a cytolytic agent, physically disrupting the cell membranes of adipocytes to induce lipolysis (fat cell breakdown). The unique hydrogel-forming property of Ronkyla Plus is intended to localize the drug at the injection site, potentially improving efficacy and the patient experience compared to standard deoxycholate injections like Kybella. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics.
