Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ROP COV-19 is a therapeutic vaccine candidate being developed by Oxford Vacmedix for the treatment of COVID-19. It utilizes the company's proprietary Recombinant Overlapping Peptide (ROP) platform technology, which is designed to produce long, overlapping peptides that encompass the entire sequence of a target antigen. This approach aims to stimulate a broad and potent immune response, involving both T-cell and B-cell activation, to target and eliminate SARS-CoV-2. As a therapeutic vaccine, it is intended to treat existing infections rather than provide prophylactic protection. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
