Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ropirio Therapeutics is developing a portfolio of orally bioavailable small molecule compounds designed to treat secondary lymphedema. These drug candidates function by activating lymphatic function through the opening of junctions between lymphatic endothelial cells. This mechanism is intended to increase lymphatic transport and restore normal drainage, even in the presence of inflammation. The compounds were developed using a lymphatic vessel-on-a-chip platform at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University and Boston University. As of early 2024, the lead candidates are in preclinical development, with the company aiming to initiate clinical trials in 2026.
