ropivacaine + ketorolac + epinephrine

This combination drug is a local infiltration analgesia (LIA) solution developed by Vejle Hospital for the management of postoperative pain, specifically following total hip arthroplasty. It consists of ropivacaine, a long-acting amide-type local anesthetic that blocks nerve impulse conduction by inhibiting sodium channels; ketorolac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesia by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis via cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) inhibition; and epinephrine (adrenaline), a sympathomimetic agent that acts as a vasoconstrictor to prolong the local effect of the anesthetic and reduce systemic toxicity. The mixture is typically administered via a catheter placed at the surgical site to provide sustained pain relief in the immediate postoperative period.
