Overview

LY09606 is a liposomal formulation of ropivacaine hydrochloride, a long-acting amide-type local anesthetic. Developed by Luye Pharma, this sustained-release injection is designed to provide prolonged postoperative analgesia by slowly releasing the anesthetic at the surgical site. This mechanism aims to extend the duration of pain relief and reduce the requirement for systemic opioids following procedures such as hemorrhoidectomy. Ropivacaine works by reversibly blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve fibers, thereby inhibiting the conduction of nerve impulses and preventing the generation and propagation of pain signals. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for post-hemorrhoidectomy analgesia.
