ropivacaine liposome

HYR-PB21 is a long-acting liposomal formulation of ropivacaine, an amide-type local anesthetic, developed for the management of postoperative pain. Ropivacaine functions by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve fibers, which inhibits the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, thereby providing regional anesthesia and analgesia. By encapsulating ropivacaine within a liposomal delivery system, HYR-PB21 allows for a sustained release of the drug at the surgical site, extending the duration of pain relief compared to standard ropivacaine hydrochloride injections. This extended-release profile is intended to reduce the requirement for systemic analgesics, such as opioids, in the immediate postoperative period.
