ROR1R-CAR-T is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed for the treatment of ROR1-positive malignancies. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR targeting the receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1 (ROR1). ROR1 is an oncofetal antigen that is highly expressed on the surface of various cancer cells, including those in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), and mantle cell lymphoma, while being largely absent in healthy adult tissues. By engineering T cells to recognize ROR1, the therapy aims to achieve targeted lysis of malignant cells. This specific candidate was evaluated in clinical trials at the MD Anderson Cancer Center before the program was withdrawn for administrative reasons.
