ROR2-CAR T cells are an investigational cell therapy where a patient's T cells are genetically modified ex vivo to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 2 (ROR2), a protein commonly overexpressed in various solid tumors including osteosarcoma, melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, neuroblastoma, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma[7][4][9][10]. The engineered CAR enables T cells to selectively recognize and attack ROR2-expressing cancer cells by binding to the ROR2 antigen and triggering T cell-mediated cytotoxicity. While several CAR T-cell therapies are approved for hematological malignancies, ROR2-CAR T cells remain in early-stage clinical or preclinical development for solid tumors[7][4][9][10].
