Overview

ROS-ERS inducer 1 is a Pt(II)-N-heterocyclic carbene (Pt(II)-NHC) complex derived from 4,5-diarylimidazole. It functions as a type II immunogenic cell death (ICD) inducer by triggering endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), which together lead to the release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). This mechanism promotes immunogenic cell death in cancer cells, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma and multiple myeloma, resulting in enhanced antitumor immunity through dendritic cell maturation and T-cell activation. Preclinical studies show that ROS-ERS inducer 1 exhibits significantly higher anticancer activity than cisplatin[1][2][3][4][5][7].
