Overview

Rosa canina vitamin C fraction is a specific biochemical extract obtained from the hips of the dog rose (*Rosa canina*). In experimental models using human colon cancer cell lines (Caco-2), this fraction has demonstrated significant cytotoxicity and antiproliferative activity. Its mechanism involves the reduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the induction of cell cycle disturbances, ultimately leading to programmed cell death via the apoptotic pathway. Due to these properties, it is being explored as a potential therapeutic agent or a functional food ingredient for the management of colorectal carcinoma.
