The combination is being investigated as a means to enhance both direct ablation of injected tumors (by rose bengal disodium) and systemic anti-tumor immune responses (through both agents), with demonstrated augmented efficacy versus single agents in preclinical models and early phase trials in cancers such as metastatic melanoma and uveal melanoma[1][3][5].
