Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ROSUBAT-EZ is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy developed and marketed by Intra Life, an Indian PCD pharma company, for the management of hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia. It contains rosuvastatin (20 mg), a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, and ezetimibe (10 mg), a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor. Rosuvastatin works by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis, which leads to an increase in LDL receptor expression and enhanced clearance of LDL-C from the blood. Ezetimibe targets the Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1) transporter in the small intestine, blocking the absorption of dietary and biliary cholesterol. This dual mechanism of action—reducing both cholesterol production and absorption—provides a synergistic effect, making it an effective option for patients who require significant LDL-C reduction or those not achieving targets with statin monotherapy.
