Rosula NS

Rosula NS is a topical dermatological combination product containing sulfacetamide sodium (10%) and urea. Developed by Doak Dermatologics, a subsidiary of Bradley Pharmaceuticals, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris, rosacea, and seborrheic dermatitis. Sulfacetamide sodium is a sulfonamide antibiotic that exerts bacteriostatic activity by inhibiting bacterial growth through the competitive antagonism of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), a precursor in folic acid synthesis, specifically targeting the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase. The urea component acts as a keratolytic agent and moisturizer, which helps to soften the skin, improve hydration, and potentially enhance the penetration of the antibiotic. It is available in various topical forms, most notably as medicated pads for convenient application.
